There are professions that remain underappreciated. Long-distance truck drivers in our country do not earn as much as they deserve, so many of them look towards European Union countries. There, drivers’ salaries are significantly higher, and there are insurance policies that allow them to feel more confident about their trips. Working as a driver in Poland looks promising for Russians, Ukrainians and Belarusians. The country is not so far away, the locals speak a language similar to Russian, and there are some similarities in traditions. If we add to this the labour shortage in Poland, it turns out that the job offer is beneficial to both sides.
To get a job in Europe, you need to complete Code 95 course for bus and truck drivers. They take place in different countries, but it is cheaper and more convenient to take it in Poland. After a short or long training, you can count on employment and good conditions.
A professional driver is a qualified specialist who most often transports people or goods. The job offers good earning potential, but in order to become a long-distance driver, you need to take into account the need to spend several hundred or thousand zlotys on the necessary Code 95 courses. How much does a professional driver earn?
For many years, professional driver has been one of the most sought-after jobs in Poland. Freight forwarding companies compete to create increasingly attractive offers. If you add ease of employment to high earnings, you get an interesting alternative to many other professions. Of course, being a long-distance driver is not all advantages. It should not be forgotten that in order to become one, you need to obtain expensive qualifications and pass exams.
According to the rules, a driver is any person who operates a vehicle, has passed detailed psychotechnical tests, and has received a professional qualification certificate. It is also worth familiarizing yourself with the legal requirements regarding working hours and obtaining a driver’s license. A properly trained employee can then choose from job offers that often provide a truly decent salary.
If the earnings are so good, why are we still talking about a shortage of workers? Firstly, working as a truck driver, for example, involves significant expenses at the very beginning of one’s career. Taking all the necessary courses costs several thousand zlotys. Of course, we shouldn’t forget about the high level of responsibility placed on a long-haul truck driver. Working many hours behind the wheel is not easy, and opportunities for fatal mistakes lurk around every corner. Besides the demands placed on the driver, there is another important issue – the specifics of the job of a person transporting goods. On the one hand, it’s interesting, but on the other hand, it involves a level of responsibility that is difficult to combine with personal life.
Let’s start with the basics, that is, a Category B driver’s license. To obtain one, you must be at least 18 years old and pass a state exam. The skills test is divided into theoretical and practical parts. In the theoretical part, the candidate must demonstrate a good knowledge of traffic rules. Of course, the work of a professional driver may require more advanced driving skills. For this, you need to obtain a Category C/C1/C+E license. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older (with the exception of those holding a professional qualification certificate for 280 hours).
To obtain a professional driver’s license, you need to obtain a certificate.
There are two main types of such certificate in Poland:
Upon completion, drivers take a written test.

Driving a vehicle weighing several tons and with large dimensions requires complete physical fitness and continuous concentration. One mistake can mean not only the loss of cargo and delivery delays, but also the death of other road users.
