Don’t think that the large number of documents and requirements for drivers is just another government whim. In EU countries, safety is given great importance. To reduce the number of accidents and traffic incidents on the roads, a law was adopted requiring certain drivers to undergo specific testing every five years. Code 95 is not a formality, but an important document that allows you to get a job at a prestigious company in Poland.
Features and conditions
When introducing the new requirement, legislators were primarily guided by road safety – when exchanging a driver’s license, medical and psychological examinations are conducted.
This was also done to prevent abuses by some employers who often ignored the mandatory periodic checks of their employees. By September 10, 2014, the documents had to be replaced by young drivers, i.e., those who received their first category C license between January 1, 2006 and September 10, 2009. The largest exchange took place before September 10, 2012. Code 95 was required for all professional drivers who received their licenses before December 31, 2000 (category C) or before the end of 2005. This means that after September 10, all professional bus or truck drivers should already have a document with code 95.
Every driver engaged in transporting people and cargo must renew their qualification for a 5-year period, i.e., undergo retraining, which can be done at the Polish driving school ‘U Marka’. For people over 60 years old, this period is even shorter – 30 months.
Compulsory training
In light of the changed rules, candidates for professional drivers must obtain initial qualification, which consists of various types of training:
- basics;
- additional enhanced initial course;
- accelerated program;
- accelerated additional preliminary qualification within program blocks corresponding to the driver’s license category.
Without thorough preparation, there can be no talk of a career in the transport industry. Initial qualification includes a package of theoretical and practical classes, the course concludes with an exam. In turn, drivers who already have licenses must undergo periodic training Code 95 course every five years.
How the training is conducted
There are several main blocks involved in the training:
- Theory with an instructor in Russian. Here you will learn about driver working hours, receive Tachograph training, and route optimization will be built. Additionally, you will learn to pay for roads, fill out CMR forms, and pass road inspections.
- The second theoretical module is conducted on a computer. Here, students must study EU legal regulations, driver responsibilities, the basics of economical driving, and truck characteristics. The driver must know how to provide assistance in the event of an accident, how to secure cargo, and so on.
- The virtual simulator relates to the third training block. Here there is an opportunity to check how the driver reacts to external stimuli, see reaction speed, and understand how a person will act during bad weather.
