Driver Documents in 2025: How to save your career, avoid scammers, and get the right training

2025 has become a milestone for the entire transport industry. The number of drivers is growing, the demand for international drivers is huge, and companies are hiring faster than they can process applications.

But along with this, another thing has grown — the number of schemes, forgeries, and offers to “quickly and cheaply do everything you want”. And right now, when a driver can start a career in literally a few weeks, mistakes have become more costly than ever.

Over the past few years, I have heard hundreds of stories — from beginners, from experienced drivers, from ITD inspectors, from employers. And they all agree on one thing: ignorance of the law does not excuse, and incorrect documents can ruin a career even before the first trip.

To understand how a driver can protect themselves, you need to understand the entire path — from certificates to a chip card — as a single system. Because that is how it is viewed by inspectors, ITD, psychologists, medical examination centers, and employers.

Medical examination and psychological test: the point where it all begins

Driver card, chip card, Code 95, permits — all of this is meaningless without

two documents: medical examination and psychological test.

And here, a strict, unambiguous rule applies:

both examinations are conducted ONLY in person, ONLY in Poland, ONLY by

specialists from the official register.

This is not the opinion of the driving school, and it’s not “because we want it that way.” It’s the law.

Medical examination

Ustawa o transporcie drogowym (Art. 39j ust. 1, 6):

a driver’s medical examination can only be carried out by a doctor who is authorized to perform

preventive examinations AND has the right to examine candidates for drivers.

Psychological test

Ustawa o kierujących pojazdami (Art. 43 ust. 1):

a psychological examination is performed by a transport psychologist working in a

registered laboratory.

In other words:

❌ Online certificates

❌ Certificates from another country

❌ Certificates made during the period when the driver was abroad

— all these are fictitious documents that the ITD does not recognize.

And the scariest thing is that many drivers find out about this not at the driving school, but… at the border.

Where the inspector looks at the date of entry/exit to the EU and says:

«Pana był w Białorusi. Badania są nieważne.»

And the trip ends before it even begins

Checking licenses: one minute that saves from disaster

Scammers in 2025 have become visually almost indistinguishable from real schools.

They copy websites, use logos of government services, write that they “issue licenses in

a short time and without an exam”.

But in Poland, there is one tool that destroys any lie:

the official moj.gov.pl database

If the license is not in the system, it is fake.

If there was no exam, there will be an Art. mark. 70.

If the school is cheating, the ITD will be the first to know.

This is a very simple check, but it has saved the careers of more than a dozen drivers,

who came to us after “someone promised to arrange everything nicely”.

Chip card from an individual = risk at the border and on the road

There is nothing complicated about a driver’s chip card.

But to get it “quickly” and “through a friend” means putting your career at

risk.

Why? Because the card is issued through PWPW — the state factory of

securities.

And if the application is submitted through an individual, KAS (tax office), the prosecutor’s office, or PWPW

may start checking their activities.

If they find violations — all cards that he distributed are canceled. This means that the driver may be left without a card:

on the road
at loading
abroad
and without the possibility to continue working.

Driving school “Quick and Cheap” = Expensive and Problematic

A good driving school is a record in the official state register, which is maintained by voivodes.

The check takes 10 seconds:

If the school is not there, it’s simple: it’s not a driving school.

This is an intermediary who:

issues online certificates
offers remote Code 95
hides services in the contract or does not have a contract at all

On paper, everything looks beautiful.

In reality, the driver is left alone with the consequences.

Code 95: five signs that the course was done incorrectly

These five points are a concentrate of the experience and complaints of drivers for 2022–2025. If all match, the course is probably fake. 1. Training is completely online.

They allow you to leave the EU during the course.
They allow you to use the chip card in parallel.
Certificates are not issued in Poland or remotely.
After the course, there is no official certificate from the driving school.

Three points are a warning sign.

All five are a red siren.

Consequences: from a fine and removal from the line — to deportation.

Fraud schemes 2025: what’s new

2025 became the year of the emergence of “semi-legal” schemes — not outright forgeries, but

“gray” services that look legal but are not recognized in Poland.

The most dangerous:

Online certificates

«200 zł cheaper» turn into fines, annulment of Code 95, and a ban on work.

Chip cards through individuals

They work — until the person is checked.

Licenses without an exam and grounds for replacement

Every ITD inspector sees the Art. mark. 70.

The deception is revealed in a second.

“Driving schools” intermediaries “quickly and cheaply”

They “sell documents”, and when the driver is fined, they say:

«We only consulted».

Code 95 «without presence»

This is the main scheme of the year.

99% of courses without being in Poland are illegal.

The most important thing: driver documents are a chain, not separate elements

Medical examination, psychological test, license, driving school, chip card, Code 95 — these are not independent

points, but a single system, in which a failure in one place destroys everything else.

ITD, PWPW, KAS, the border service — all authorities work together and see the data

in one ecosystem.

Therefore, trying to “bypass the system” today is not just a risk — it is a guaranteed

career crash.
